Erny's called an OGRE meet at his Place in a few weeks and the plan is to play some Necromunda.
After a bit of digging I've found out three gangs - Escher, Orlock and Cawdor.
Back in the day I started playing Delaque but struggled with the sneaky tactics (odd with me being a Skaven at heart) and switched to Escher. I made a very splodgy attempt at painting them so at present I'm stripping the girls (oo'er) for a fresh paint job.
In the meantime I decided to show my Cawdor gang the paint brush.
For some reason I decided to undercoat them brown, I'm not completely sure why.
Anyhow, I sprayed them yesterday and I've made a start, I think if I put a couple of colours on a night then I'll have them done by the weekend ready to make a start on the girls.
What it did lead me to wonder though was, how do people do bases for Necromunda????????
Well that's different from Elves and Skavens! For the bases, I'd suggest going the lazy route and buy resin urban bases, like these : http://www.dragonforge.com/Painting%20service/for%20sale/base_sets/sci-fi/concrete_rubble.htm.
ReplyDeleteI've considered those sort of bases but not sure if I want to go down that route, much to ponder........................
DeleteNice figs. Fine grated mesh over half the base with a 2mm strip of plasticard painted in hazard striping with loose sand or cork on the other looks really great and costs next to nothing
ReplyDeleteOooooooooo, do I trust my modeling skills for such?
DeleteI may justy paint 'em a grey/blue colour for now and work out the details at a later date.
You must persevere Sir. I'm twice the painter/modeller I was even a year ago by pushing myself. You can do it my verminous amigo and your opponents will be so distracted they'll forget all about over watch!
DeleteOh I do, just not sure if I can square the time spent with the misses...............
DeleteHow to base them? On hex bases, of course!
ReplyDeleteNever been a fan of hex bases plus it would mean having to buy some - D'OH
DeleteI'm trying to keep the cost low, I think I may of come up with a cheap method but I need to take a trip to wilkos!
I'm just going with browny-grey sandy-rubble, with a few dabs of dark green and orange foliage.
DeleteI shall bear your choice in mind.............
DeleteGutted I can't make this game. I love sci-fi skirmish games.
ReplyDeleteI've started basing my sci-fi models with wire fence and corrugated iron bits. These are fairly cheap and can be bought anywhere that model railway stuff is available.
Hmmmmn, I may taker a trip to my local store enroute to Wilkos.
