The Eagles are coming...................... and they aren't alone!

Latest minis off the production line are two Great Eagles.............................

..................... along with 6 Silverhelms (still to have shields and Banner added).

Looks like I've forgotten to ink one of the crests - D'OH! Oh well, that'll be rectified in a bit.

The full army looks like this at the moment:

Small but perfectly formed!

I maybe have a game against Erny next weekend and I need to get a Mage painted up by then, a some bolt thrower would be nice too. I'll use the Silverhelm Champion as a General for now and use the Silverhelm with the winged helmet as a unit Champion.

Thanks for stopping by, I'm off to splatter paint around some more.........................................

  1. Great early progress. Those Silver Helms are some of my favourite cavalry (although I've always felt they should all have crests!). Great job on the eagle's wings too.

    1. Too kind! I know what you mean, I've always thought all of them or less of them, by having it on one if the knights (that you get two of) as well as the Champion AND the Standard Bearer it makes it look like something missing from the other two minis!

  2. Great job Snikkit I've got a box of those marauder silver helms..... Someday they may even see paint. Your stuff is looking great, the eagles will work wonderfully preventing units from marching while being skewered with bolt throwers, archers, and the inevitable charge of the silver helms! Tally-ho

    1. Shhhhhh, don't give away the tactices ;)

Cheers for the compliments Dude, very much appreciated.

I think the Silverhelms are Citadel not Marauder as the good mister Goodwin designed them although Marauder did indeed do some of that range, such as the White Lions and the Swordmasters.

  3. Looking good for speed paint Dave though even for speed paint I think you need to give the white horse barding a fresh lick of white. They currently just look dirty and not in a we’ve been on campaign and got caked in mud way.

    Two eagles huh?

    1. I've been debating that myself. I've painted up the Unicorn and had to give that a white drybrush as the brown ink just didn't look right. I may give these a coat of white in the next few days. I think I've opted against the Unicorn Mage though as the 90pt addition to the Mage's cost is a tad dear in a small army.

Yup, two Eagles although I may only use one as 75pts for something with only two attacks is, once again, a tad dear. I mainly did both of them to get them done and out of the way as I've been meaning to get them repainted for a while now.

  4. those elves and allied eagles look great, a simple paint scheme works well on those 4th edition high elves indeed.

    1. Too kind, I think the 4th Edition Elves are stunning minis and a simple paint job allows the sculpting to do the talking.
