They had been riding through the night, at dawn they stopped in a clearing in the Laurelorn Forrest.
"Why are we here Hengis?" asked the Grey Wizard.
"I need to speak to you Randalf" replied Hengis.
"But why here?" Randalf inquired.
"I've been speaking to the Triumvirate of Mighty Wizards" said Hengis, "I need to discuss a............... delicate matter".
"The what?????" asked Randalf in bemusement.
"The Triumvirate of Mighty Wizards, myself, Zultar the Alchemist and Aton Rha the Mystical, we've formed a Union" Hengis replied.
"Oh you mean Gary and Sid!" said Randalf. "They're not Mighty Wizards, everybody knows that, Gary paints rocks yellow and claims they're gold and Sid does those "Ancient Nehekakara shows in his Mum's backyard, he makes more from the dodgy merchandise he sells after the shows, they're a load of knock off tat! I mean, what's a fake Nehekaran urn anyway?"
"About 3 silver pieces a show but that's not important" replied Hengis.
"and what is?" asked Randalf dismounting.
"We need work Randalf, I mean real work, we need Battle Wizard work, it pays well and we're all dealing with the cost of living crisis you know".
"Snake oil not profitable these days?" asked Randalf.
"Alternative Medicine" corrected Hengis "We Jade Wizards are genuine healers".
"Nnnnnnyyyyeeesssssss" said the Grey Wizard. "The problem is........... well............. you're not very good choices for Battle Wizards".
"You're no better Randalf, all people want you for is moving people around in the shadows, it's creepy" replied Hengis "You, Bernhardt the Fiery and that purple hooded prick Wolfgang take all the work, and if it's not one of you three it's Mystic Meg or that bloke who likes animal furs waaaaaaay too much! We're always last pick like at school in PE."
"Hengis, why have you brought me here?" asked Randalf again.
"Because Randalf, it's a place of power for Jade Wizards where I can do this!"
There was a sudden flash of green light and Randalf didn't feel so good. He couldn't move his legs, or his arms.............. or anything else for that matter, he had turned to stone!
"It won't kill you, but it won't wear off quickly here either, you should be free in a few weeks"
Hengis rode off, humming cheerily.
"Time to go and get one of those lucrative contracts from the Elector Count" he thought to himself.
