Tale of 4th Gamers Painting/Army Building Challenge II - November 2024 to March 2025

Back in March 2025 we finished up the Tale of 4th Gamers painting/Army Building Challenge. Here's the round up of what I painted up.

Month 1

Completed in the wee small hours of the morning, here's my first instalment for the Tale of 4th Gamers Painting Challenge.

1 Lord = 2.5 Gold Pieces
1 Runesmith = 2.5 Gold Pieces
10 Warriors = 5 Gold Pieces
10 Warriors = 5 Gold Pieces
1 Warrior = 1.15 Gold Pieces
1 Command Group = 4.5 Gold Pieces
24 Crossbowmen = 27 Gold Pieces

Total Budget: 50.00 Gold Pieces
Total Spend: 47.65 Gold Pieces
Total Unspent: 2.35 Gold Pieces

So that's a total of 47.65 Gold Pieces giving me 2.35 Gold Pieces to roll over to next month.

Month 2

Poor offering from me this month.

Just the 1 warmachine, so only 6 Gold Pieces spent.

I have some Warriors very nearly done but I've made a mess of the shields and it'll take a while to sort them due to logistics and supplies.

Still, it means a bumper month from me next month!

Month 3

This month my offering combines the Dwarf Warriors I didn't finish in time for last month's deadline, a Hero and a unit of Longbeards (they all have white beards so they must be old geezers right?).

I've spotted a few areas I need to touch up but they're table top standard so ready to game with and that's all I ever aim for.

I rolled over 21.35 Gold Pieces from last month to add to my 25.00 Gold Pieces this month and I've spent all but 4.55 Gold Pieces of it that I'll roll into next month.

Hero: 2.50 GP
2x Warrior boxes: 10.00 GP
1 Warrior: 1.15 GP
Warrior Command Group: 4.50 GP
4x Longbeard Blister: 4.50 GP
1 Longbeard: 1.15 GP
Longbeard Command: 4.50 GP

Total Budget: 46.35 GP (25.00 + 21.35)
Total Spend: 41.80 GP
Total Unspent: 4.55 GP

Month 4

This month time was short where life got in the way so I decided to paint up an artillery battery as they're "quick" to get done.

Out of my 25 Gold Piece Budget for this month I spent 18 Gold Pieces for three War Machines at 6 Gold Pieces each.

A stone thrower, cannon and bolt thrower go into the army, which, when added to the organ gun I painted earlier in the challenge gives a healthy dose of Dwarven engineered death dealing.

Month 5

With this instalment I've dug down deep whilst also reaching for the skies.

A Hero(in) that will represent Queen Helgar in my playing of Grudge of Drong (using 4th Ed naturally) who shows why I don't usually bother painting eyes!!!!

An Army Standard Bearer (banner pending as usual).

Two extra Longbeards to round out the unit.

15 Miners with a Champion and Standard Bearer (banner and standard top pending)

A Gyrocopter.

All of this means that at close of play on the Challenge I'm just 0.10 Gold Pieces short of the 150 Gold Pieces Challenge limit.

And here's the "finished" Army, painted in 5 months.
