For years he'd hoped to run the Warhammer 2nd edition scenario "Blood on the Snow" from White Dwarf #91 at BOYL.
Matthew can explain this far better than I ever could so below are some links to his blog detailing the progress he'd made:
As he will never see this come to light some of his friends have decided to honour him by finishing what he started. The scenario will be run at this year's BOYL and in order to make this happen we've taken on the task of painting up the miniatures he'd assembled to take part in the scenario. These armies, along with the rest of his collection, will be raffled and/or auctioned off afterwards, the proceeds going to his partner and family. This patch work of painting styles will create a slightly disjointed collection but we hope shows the love and respect we have for him that we want to make this dream come true.
For my part I've painted up 10 Dwarf crossbowmen, half of a unit of allied Imperial Dwarfs to the main Norse Dwarf army.
Matthew was a very talented artist, a lot of his work can be found scattered over many Warmaster and Oldhammer projects. This is a piece her presented me with for my 40th Birthday. It's me as a Nordland Halberdier (my Empire province of choice) and has appeared in several publications I believe.
I miss you Matthew, Rest in Peace
